Lead Artists

Forced Walks was initiated by walking and multi-media artist, Richard White and installation artist, Lorna Brunstein. Lorna Brunstein’s experience as a second generation survivor has informed much of her work devising a vocabulary for inherited trauma. Richard White’s recent work involves experimenting with walking and social media on social justice themes exploring uncomfortable histories and reluctant heritage.

They describe their collaboration as being ‘about time and the land, exile and belonging, the drift of memory and forgetting: memorialising in an era dense with anniversaries’. Sara’s Last Steps develops themes established in this long term collaboration, Forced Walks attending to internationalism, memorialisation and solidarity.
